I am running into a problem with a Symbol MC3090 running CE5.0 trying to access our enterprise authenication system running CA siteminder through a web browser (IE). Our IT division is using a wildcard cert which is causing a "SECURITY ALERT: The name on the security certificate is invalid." message. After Googling around a bit, this seems like a well known problem (fixed in CE6?). I was wondering if anyone knows of a registry setting I could use to avoid this alert since it is locked down to only use our intranet web site. I tried HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\WarnonBadCertRecving in the off chance that DWORD was honored, but it is not. Any other ideas?

Hi,
Short answer - Wildcard certs are not supported on Windows Mobile 5.0 devices.

There were no efforts made to support Wildcard certs on Windows Mobile 5.0 so I do not know of a workaround.
