Was looking for a Packet Sniffer and decided to give AirScanner Sniffer a try on my HTC Trinity. After getting the "Failed to load capture driver" I started troubleshooting and found that killing the Windows Mobile 5 Phone Application (cprog.exe) allowed AirScanner Sniffer to load and start capturing packets.
I could be wrong but I'm assuming the WM5 Phone Application is the same across most if not all WM5 devices since it is part of the OS. If this is the case, hope that Air Scanner can fix it or at least work with Microsoft on coming up with a fix. Just an FYI to AirScanner and anyone looking for a possible solution in the mean time.
BTW, AirScanner says my interface does not support promiscuous mode. Does anyone know what WIFI chip is in the HTC Trinity and if it capable of promiscuous mode, if it is, anyone know if there is another driver that could be installed to allow promiscuous mode?
