There are currently a few known issues on the new v3.0 antivirus. These occur on some, but not all, devices or ROM versions. Some of the errors are caused by interaction with 3rd party tools.
1. The first issue prevents some users from saving a Scheduler test plan. A workaround: If you enable background scanning, you will be protected in real time and you will not need scheduled updates. In this case, simply perform a manual update every one or two weeks. Fortunately, the number of new Windows Mobile viruses is very low compared to PC viruses. [Update: some users report that a hard reset fixed this error.]
2. The second issue prevents certain users from performing an online update. The error you will see is "Error trying to locate CAB file" when the online update is applied. The fix: This problem only occurs when you install the update package to storage card. If this error occurs, then do not install the update package to storage card. Simply perform the online update again, and this time install the update package to main memory (not storage card). That will resolve the error.
3. The 3rd issue is an "Error 2" that occurs when doing an online update. The fix: This error is caused by using a 3rd party CAB-installing program. Simply disable the 3rd-party program, and the error will go away.
4. There is one device that is incompatible with the Smartphone version of the antivirus. That is the Cingulair Blackjack/Samsung i630. You should not install the antivirus on that device.
Note: Some users may still prefer the older version of the antivirus. We recommend using the latest version (v3.0). However, users who still wish to downgrade from v3.0 to v2.97 can do so. To downgrade from v3.0 to v2.97, first uninstall v3.0. Then, install v2.97 from one of the following locations:
PC-based Active Sync .exe installer: http://airscanner.com/downloads/av297/amav.exe On-device (OTA) installer: http://airscanner.com/downloads/av297/avota.exe (This OTA installer version will only run on the device itself).
